Quota - "Ladoo and Diabetes"

Quota is like a ladoo, which is liked by everyone but some can not taste that because they fall in the diabetic category. I am one of them so my point of view about this ladoo might be somewhat disturbing for those who really enjoy this.
Quota, as defined by some great social leaders is the weapon for social reform, uplifting lower castes and equality in the country. What I think about the quota is that it is the price the government parties are willing to pay to the violent and specific category of voters in turn for their victory.
“The Hindu” articulated the reason why the government has accepted the 5% separate quota recently that “Protestors residing nearby Delhi grab the limelight easily by blocking all the main roads and rails and the government is often left with no option but to give in to the demands of the protestors. Whereas the protestors in the far north-east have not been given this kind of importance, despite all their efforts to create instability and unrest.” This makes me think why Delhi (the government) is so afraid of violence rather than opposing this with the very same force. It is puzzling to me as to why there is this discrimination between Delhi and not only the north-east but also the rest of the country.
There is another issue which I am concerned about is caste based reservation. In U.P. these people from the Scheduled Castes first demand for the quota and while this is being taken into consideration they are ready to be called “scheduled caste” OR pichdi/choti jaati ke log” but if it is some other occasion when they are referred to as “Chamaar” OR “Bhangi” which no doubt they are, will cause a havoc. When Brahmins are called “Pundit” OR “Brahmin” and Vaishya or Baniyas are called “Baniya” OR “Lala” then why is there this big issue in calling Shudras a “Bhangi” OR “Chamaar”. On one hand they want to be “Pichdi/Choti Jaati ke log” for securing the seats, then why is the earth under their feet cracking when they are called by there caste name on a regular day.
The chief minister once said:
Tilak, tarazu aur talwar, teenon ko maaro joote char

(we should hate and take revenge from all upper caste people (Tilak represents Brahmins, Tarazu represents all Vaishya and traders class people and Talwar represents Shatriya)) which conveys a message of their hatred to all classes of society except their own. And when votes were needed from the same upper caste people, the quotation changed to
Yeh haathi nahin Ganesh hai, Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh hai

(Brahma, the god of knowledge and creation representing Brahmins, Vishnu, the God of food and prosperity representing Vaishya and Mahesh, the God of destruction representing Shatriyas) conveying that all upper caste people are worth worshiping, what do they want to convey?
I am not a supporter of caste/race discrimination but till these divisions are there, this barrier can not vanish. Quota and reservations are not the effective solutions in the present condition, what is needed is the alleviation of poverty irrespective of caste.
In case of administrative services there should be no quota at all, we need to govern the country, not a candy shop. When it comes to handling a country and its development then how would a person who doesn’t even have adequate information and knowledge about all this be able to handle this. There are many people from reserved categories who are very brilliant and crack the UPSC, these are the ones the country needs, others should be inspired by them and not just be dependent on the quota.
In my opinion establishment of quota/reservation instead of filling the gap in our society is creating a bigger crater, as the people who have sound knowledge in these particular topics are standing aside and the others with no such qualities are taking advantages. If this is not going to stop then one after another every one will demand for the quota, and government will no doubt approve that because of its vote bank. Which makes me think that can quota exceed a limit of 100%?
